Butch Potter

Growing Elder (oversees Core Courses and Community Groups)

ButchButch was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and placed his faith in Christ at the age of 9 during a revival service at a small country church. He has been married to his lovely wife, Sharon, for 28 years and God has entrusted them with 2 loving daughters: Kalie, 21, who is a senior at Shepherd University and Molly, 15, who is a busy freshman at Washington High School. Butch is employed by the Internal Revenue Service in Lanham, MD as an Information Technology Specialist.

The Potter family has attended Harvest Pointe Community Church since 2004. He and Sharon have been active in the middle school / high school ministries at the church for about 3 years in the role of ministry leaders. Butch is also a member of the Harvest Pointe Ambassadors motorcycle group that uses the sport of motorcycling as both a ministry opportunity and as a means for Christian fellowship. He has also served in the role of the head Deacon at a previously attended church.

Butch's desire is to live a Christ-centered life that will serve as a testimony to those he encounters on a daily basis. His hope for Harvest Pointe is that the church will be recognized in the community as a group of "Real people making a real difference in a real world through the power of Christ".
