John Bittle
Going Elder (oversees Community Outreach and World Missions)

John spent the better part of his early life living selfishly for himself and trying to find happiness in “worldly” pleasures. It was only after surrendering his heart to Jesus at the age of 33 that he found the true meaning of life and realized that what he had been missing all along wasn’t things, money, or career, but God. He finally understood that God was the only thing that could fill the emptiness in his soul and he threw himself into devouring God’s Word and growing as much as he could in the knowledge and love of Jesus.
God sent John the only woman that could put up with him, and in 1993 he and Kim were married. They were baptized together that same year and dedicated themselves to living their lives, and raising their children with Jesus as the Head of their family. John and Kim have four wonderful children of faith, Nikolas, Ashtyn, Isaiah, and Grace, and they currently live in the Whiting’s Neck area of
John and Kim became members of Harvest Pointe in 2009, and John has been serving as Student Ministry Deacon over Middle and High School Youth. He is humbled at being asked to serve as Elder at Harvest Pointe and realizes the tremendous responsibility of answering God’s call to faithfully and willingly serve His Body, the Church, in this position. It is John’s hope and desire that Jesus will in some way use him to help each and every man, woman, and child of Harvest Pointe realize the true power and glory of Jesus Christ living and active in their lives. It is also his dream to help HPCC become a shining beacon of light to the community by becoming a model of the love and compassion of our Lord and Savior through selfless service and enduring love.
