Nathan Cherry
Generations Director (oversees birth-12th grade ministries and family ministries)
Nathan began his relationship with Jesus two weeks before Christmas in 1984 in Toledo, Ohio where his dad was a pastor. This began Nathan’s awkward, messy, bumpy ride of getting to know Jesus and trying to figure out what it was Jesus wanted to do with his life. When Nathan was 12 he heard the unmistakable call to full time ministry. After high school Nathan went to Liberty University where he earned his Associate Degree in Biblical Studies in 2001. Nathan then moved to Berkeley county West Virginia to take part in his dad’s ministry at Central Chapel in Back Creek Valley. While doing ministry Nathan continued his studies through Trinity Theology Seminary in Newburgh Indiana; he earned an Associate Degree in Biblical Counseling, Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies, and Master’s in Biblical Studies.
While teaching Bible at several area schools, Nathan met his future wife Bonnie and they were married in November of 2005. Nathan and Bonnie were blessed with the birth of their son Judah Aaron in April of 2008. Their daughter, Esther Celestine was born in March of 2010. And their third child, a boy, will be born in April of 2012!
In 2009 Nathan helped start New Hope Church in Inwood, WV with his dad. As the Connection Pastor at New Hope Nathan developed many of his strengths by leading the praise band, overseeing the technology ministry, doing graphic design, leading a small group, handling the administrative duties of the church and more. Nathan joined Harvest Pointe in November of 2011 as the Generations Director. With a passion for the family and a desire to see biblical men and women be biblical parents in order to raise biblical children that will impact the community and the world.
