Our Past - T4TH
We exist today because of the sacrifices of those who have gone before us. Beginning in 2001, the pioneers of what woudl later become Harvest Pointe Community Church headed the call to start a work of God. In a sense, they wrote history. Their faith and commitment leaves with each of us a responsibility to continue the work that has begun.
March 4, 2001 –
A core group of three families held it first meeting for what would become Harvest Pointe Community Church.
August 26, 2001 –
Harvest Pointe launched public gatherings at the Old Opera House in Charles Town
January 2002 –
Because of the demand for more regular meeting space, the church signed a lease on a commercial building to house the growing church family and held its first Celebration Service.
August 30, 2009 –
Eight years after launching publically, Harvest Pointe votes to purchase 17.4 acres of land on Highway 51 between Charles Town and Inwood.
Now, God calls us to make history. He calls forth our hope and commitment as we respond to new opportunties and challenges. Seeing what the Lord has done, and believing and trusting in where He would lead, it is our time to continue Harvest Pointe’s ministry and build our future together in faithful action. One day, another generation of believers will give thanks for our faith and witness and will be talking about what God did beginning on October 3, 2010 through us as we made an investment in the Harvest by funding our first permanent facility.
